Git の GUI として SmartGit を愛用しています．一点，困っていたのが，日本語を使っている箇所での Diff の結果が文字化けすること．でも，以下のコメントの通りに作業して問題が解決しました．めでたい．

SmartGit can detect UTF-8 and UTF-16 files with byte order mark (BOM). If it should read and write UTF-8 files without BOM in its editors correctly, you’ll have to configure the working tree encoding (Project|Edit Working Tree|Text Encoding).
